Experience

From April 1994 onwards worked in Meenakshi Mission Hospital and Research centre at Madurai in the Department of General surgery and Gastrointestinal surgery along with Laparoscopic Surgical centre for a period of four and half years. After that completed M.Ch in gastrointestinal surgery in 2000 again worked in the same institute as a Consultant in Gastrointestinal surgery for a period of one and half years and then moved to Chennai during 2001. After reaching Chennai, became freelancing laparoscopic surgeon for various hospital at Chennai along with regular consultation at Sooriya hospital and Vijaya hospital, Chennai. During this last 30 years have performed more than 10000 laparoscopic gall bladder surgery (Lap. Cholecystectomy).

Academic Activities

• Regional laparoscopic workshops.

  Organized three laparoscopic workshops for general surgeons and gynaecologists. Performed live demonstration of common laparoscopic procedures.

• International laparoscopic workshop Organised one international workshop on foregut laparoscopic surgeries, live telecasted from Westchester Medical centre to Chennai, New York.

• Demonstrated various laparoscopic surgical procedures in Regional workshops.

• Teaching faculty in Ethicon Institute of Surgical Education (EISE), Chennai since 2003 till today.

• Teaching Faculty in the Department of Surgical Gastroenterology, Sri Ramachandra Medical College, Chennai for a period of six years from 2007 to 2013.
